First of all I would like to start off this post with a huge thank you to Becky for giving me UDW's eighth award! We have won 'Best Posts' which you can view below, and will be added to the Award Wall very soon! It's really appreciated!

 

With all this talk of awards and not much news going around at the moment, I have decided to launch The 2009 UDW Blog Awards! Entering will begin this Friday, July 17th and more information will be released when the day comes!

Doctor Who Storybook 2010 Cover

Panini Books Online have revealed the cover and synopsis for the Doctor Who Storybook 2010, which features an exclusive cover illustration of the Tenth Doctor by Alister Pearson.

The story book is eighty pages long and contains eight exclusive stories featuring the Tenth Doctor. Writers for the storybook are Russell T Davies, Oli Smith, Jacqueline Raynor, Mark Gatiss, Jonathon Morris, Keith Temple, Matt Jones, Paul Magrs and James Moran.

Doctor Who Short Story - Blue Moon

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing, which is July 20th, author, Oli Smith will write a short story titled, Blue Moon, to be put up on the BBC's official Doctor Who website. This is what he had to say.

"I didn't want the Doctor to take anything away from the achievements of the Apollo mission, but rather to prevent outside influences, both extra terrestrial and closer to home, from manipulating events for their own ends. There's everything you could want from a story set during such a crucial moment in Earth's history - mysterious aliens, sinister US agents, a threat to the future of mankind and, err, BBC Radio 4's The Archers."

It will be published in four parts on July 15th, 16th, 17th, and 20th. The website will include some Moon related features, including the apperances of the Moon in Doctor Who.

We've Won an Award!

I'm happy to announce that Ultimate Doctor Who has won another award! Thanks to Meg from Laser Screwdriver, we have won 'Newest Feature' which can be seen below.

Torchwood - Children of Earth: Part Five Tonight

The final episode of Torchwood: Children of Earth, Day Five, is expected to air tonight on BBC One and BBC HD at 9PM.

Starring, John Barrowman, Eve Myles and possibly Gareth David Lloyd. The series will conclude tonight and could possibly lead on to a fourth series.

After the shock death of Ianto Jones in last night's episode, how will Captain Jack and Gwen be able to do this own their own?

Day Five will air tonight at 9PM, on BBC One and BBC HD.
